Harepila - Bidart - South West France

The house - which is in a Basque style and built in 1993 - is situated between Biarritz and Bidart, close to the beach of Cote Basque. It is one of five in a small development, and comprises kitchen/diner equipped with fitted units, two burner hob, oven, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. Bathroom with shower and toilet. Bedroom with double bed and large wardrobe.

Stairs lead from the kitchen/diner to a mezzanine where there is 1 sofa-bed and 1 chair-bed. There is satellite TV, DVD, CD and WiFi. The house sleeps four comfortably but five at a push. There is a private terrace with patio furniture and Bar-B-Q. A private parking space is also provided.

A footpath leads to a supervised beach (600 metres), from which there are fantastic views over Spain and the Pyrenees. Nearby is a relatively cheap golf course, and also restaurants nearby. A supermarket is two minutes by car or a 10 minute walk. Biarritz is ten minutes by car has an old port and harbour, sea aquarium, casino, restaurants and many shops there is also a market selling fish and local produce.

The sea temparature in July and August can reach 25oC, but it is possible to swim from May to late October due to the influence of the Gulf Stream. Sea conditions can get rough giving rise to spectacular surf and annual surf competitions.

The Spanish border is fifteen minutes away, and the Pyrenees only a short drive. Regular flights from Birmingham, Standstead and Bristol Airports - direct to Biarritz - with Ryanair and EasyJet.
